Carlo Montera was born in Pueblo, Colorado in 1924, first generation Italian, went to Pueblo Central high school, received a BA degree in Electronics from Colorado University, Served in the US Navy for two years. Carl worked at Pueblo Army Depot and moved to California to work for Northrop Aviation, as an electronic engineer. He was picked as one of the original crew members to go to NASA and help with developing the systems to put a man on the moon. Carlo was married to Beverly and has three children and six grandchildren. He enjoys watching sports especially baseball, walking (two – three miles a day) and working at the old Colorado City Farmers Market.
