Lila Mori

Lila Joined the Sons of Italy Lodge 2870 in August 2014.
She is a third generation Italian American. Her Italian ancestors were from Arezzo, in the Tuscano region of Italy. Lila grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with her Italian American father and French Canadian descended mother. In NH, evidence of her French Canadian roots were all
around her and although she embraced this part of her ancestry, she always felt an even deeper connection to her Italian roots. This was in large part due to her close relationship with her paternal grandmother, Yolanda, who shared the stories of her Italian family with her. Lila’s dream of someday visiting Italy became a reality in 1988 when she was part of a choir pilgrimage to Rome with The Divine Redeemer and St. Mary’s choirs from Colorado Springs, Colorado. While in Rome, they were
the featured choir for the All Saints Day Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, performed a concert at St. Ignacious’ Church and sang for a Papal audience with His Holy Father, Pope John Paul II. It was one of the greatest experiences of her life and she looks forward to the day when she will return
to her beloved Italy. Lila has been extremely fortunate to have fulfilled a career as a professional
singer for the past forty one years of her life. Twenty three of those years have been in a five star restaurant known as The Penrose Room of the world renowned Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
